Become a Shelter Pet Hero !
There are many wonderful pets waiting for a loving home in shelters across the country. To help support those Lightner Property Group residents who would open their home to a deserving pet, the building ownership for the following properties participate in our Shelter Pet Hero Program:

What is the Shelter Pet Hero Program?
For residents who adopt a feline pet who is 6 months or older at the time of adoption from the SPCA, the building ownership will waive 50% of the base monthly pet fee for the life of the pet! (Note - annual rent increases as allowed under the San Francisco Rent Ordinance will be imposed on the actual base license fee.)
For residents who adopt a feline pet who is a senior feline pet at the time of adoption from the SPCA (5 years or older, spayed or neutered feline), the building ownership will discount the monthly pet fee to only $5 a month for the life of the pet (plus whatever annual increases are allowed under the San Francisco Rent Ordinance).
Note: We have chosen to encourage residents to adopt older pets because homes for these furry felines are generally considered to be more difficult to locate. Many people are enchanted by a cute cuddly kitten, but far fewer individuals immediately see the benefits of adopting an older pet. An older pet may have lost their home due to circumstances far beyond their control; typically the death of their owner, a family divorce, a change of family dynamics, or an owner’s job loss.
Pet security deposits still apply but may be paid in over 2 months. If you would like to participate in the Shelter Pet Hero program, simply notify Lightner Property Group before you finalize your SPCA adoption. We will forward to you the Pet License Agreement at your home for signing. The License Agreement must be executed by you and returned to us before you bring your new pet home in order to be eligible for the pricing discounts afforded under the Shelter Pet Hero program.
Once you are ready to finanlize the pet adoption, be sure to have the SPCA fax your adoption papers to Lightner Property Group at 415-267-2905. Once received, a completed copy of your Pet License Agreement will be forwarded to you for your records.
