Celebrate Bike Month & Flower Month in San Francisco!

May is all about Spring Fever, and many of the holidays celebrated this month encourage us to get outside and take advantage of everything San Francisco has to offer.
May is American Bike Month, so if you haven't ridden your bicycle in a while, now is the time to burn off a few calories, and enjoy San Francisco without polluting it with that icky car stuff. If you are in the process of looking for an apartment and want to lock up your bike, you should know that many apartment buildings managed by Lightner Group provide areas for you to lock up your bicycle at no additional charge.
Another bike tip: check out Bikely, an online forum where contributors post their favorite trails. Don't be afraid if you don't have a lot of experience biking. Bikely contributors post trails of varying distances and difficulty. Keep in mind that bike riders in San Francisco inevitably share the street with cars, and Lightner Group found that bicyclesafe gives advice on how to NOT get hit by cars. Useful tips are illustrated with helpful images of potentially dangerous situations.
In addition to American Bike Month, May is also Flower Month. Why not bike to nature? With the abundance of Parks in San Francisco, now is the time to take in the flowers and fresh air. San Francisco's weather is fabulous and its parks are free. Below is an interactive map highlighting San Francisco parks in relation to Lightner Group managed apartment buildings.
If you are looking to venture outside your apartment this month to view the beautiful flowers, we recommend visiting The San Francisco Botanical Garden. The Botanical Garden Garden is open 365 days per year, weekdays, 8 am to 4:30 pm. weekends & holidays, 10 am to 5 pm.
