The “Quirky-Comical Quotient,” aka “Q-C Quotient,” accomplishes several things for property management companies and HR in general:
There really is no step-by-step process to accomplishthe Q-C quotient, however breaking it down into Do’s and Don’ts helps to get the message across. Below I have outlined a few examples so you can see how I leveraged the Q-C quotient when Lightner Property Group introduced a new database and organizational system (Central Desktop – CD) that overhauled, and I mean OVERHAULED, the company’s entire business structure. And it was not 5 or 10 years of information that we had to reconfigure; it was over 25 years of information. Can you say “bleeep?!”
I used the Q-C Quotient.
Example 1: Introducing a New Product
The Normal Approach (Don’t): Create a huge PowerPoint presentation to introduce the product
The Q-C Quotient (Do): Create an approach that visually catches employee’s attention and introduces an overview and the purpose of the system in a small dose. Below is what I sent out to employees to introduce them to Central Desktop:
Meet Cee Dee! - She may look a bit odd, but once you get to know her you will love her!
Example 2: Giving Directions
The Normal Approach (Don’t): Create instructions how to use the system and send via email
The Q-C Quotient (Do): Break down portions of the system and make the process approachable
Hello again! Did ya’ miss me? Did you know you CAN NOTTTT save over a document you opened up from CD? Sorry Charlie, but if you open a doc within my site you must save it to your drive then RE-PLACE the previous version.
Example 3: Giving Feedback
The Normal Approach (Don’t): Tell them they are falling behind with new system and reprimand them
The Q-C Quotient (Do): Diffuse frustration proactively providing helpful hints and wit
Repetition of TASKS driving you batty? Why such madness? The workflow prompts you daily with yet another TASK when you do not check the task DONE on the day it is actually due. Is there a solution? I not only have one, but two solutions. How do you like ‘dem apples?
On the front lines with you, Cee Dee

In a nut-shell, using the Q-C Quotient you will get further with your workforce and workflow.
